About Grace

My name is Grace and I have recently graduated from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Maths and Astrophysics, and I will be starting an MSc in Space Science this year. At A-level I studied Maths, Physics and Spanish.

I’ve always enjoyed tackling problems in maths and physics because, although they can be frustrating at first, reaching the correct result is incredibly satisfying! Having just been through school and university myself, I know how it feels to lack confidence in a topic you want to perform well in.

Over the years, I have developed effective ways to improve my understanding and achieve the grades I was aiming for, and I would love to help you do the same. During my studies, I often worked with my friends and classmates to help them with difficult topics, and I found it incredibly rewarding to see their confidence grow once a concept clicked.

My goal is to help students gain a genuine understanding of a subject. If one explanation doesn’t work there’s always another that will. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes - I do it all the time! In my experience, mistakes are often the best way to learn and remember the correct approach.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred on finding the way each student learns best. Everyone understands things differently, and I love finding the explanation that makes everything click! I begin by identifying a student’s strengths and areas for improvement, as well as their academic goals, so that I can tailor the lessons accordingly.

I believe that developing a strong understanding of the central concepts within a topic builds the confidence needed to tackle challenging problems. I always aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is an essential part of the learning process.

Whether the goal is exam preparation, improving grades or simply gaining confidence in a subject, I adapt my teaching style to ensure lessons are engaging and suited to the individual student’s needs.
