About Rose
Over the last several years I've explored many different career paths, which has allowed me to develop breadth in a large range of subjects. I studied cognitive science and philosophy in my undergraduate degree before pursuing a masters in bioethics, and I followed a pre-dental trajectory. Given this academic experience I have a very strong science background in addition to extremely honed writing skills. I want to be a dentist because I love science, problem solving, and working with people. Tutoring reflects similar passions of mine with the added bonus of seeing my students grow and learn. My mission is to create a safe environment in which students feel comfortable making mistakes while learning, instilling confidence in them which transcends to their classroom settings and other avenues of their lives.

My lessons are student-centric and very academically supportive. It took me many years to understand how I myself learn, and I enjoy helping students navigate this understanding for themselves. In essence, I believe in the importance of learning the necessary material while learning how you learn in the process. This belief allows for flexibility in how I teach my students, and I often challenge students to better understand how they can dive deeper into certain material or plan their studying in a more effective way. I am a very optimistic and enthusiastic person who maintains a calm and patient demeanour. I grew up with younger brothers and loads of pets so a little bit of chaos never phases me!
