About Norte

I am a tutor with a background in Economics and graduate-level training in Education focused on equity and social justice. I bring experience from higher education administration and academic support roles, which has strengthened my ability to explain complex concepts clearly, organize learning effectively, and support students in reaching their academic goals with confidence.

My teaching approach is structured, student-centered, and adaptable. I focus on helping students understand core concepts rather than memorizing information, using clear explanations, guided practice, and real-world examples. Each session is tailored to the student’s needs, with an emphasis on building long-term skills in academic writing, research, and critical thinking.

Alongside my academic and professional experience, I am involved with Norte Prietx, a transborder anti-racist collective that centers education, community knowledge, and critical reflection. This work informs my commitment to inclusive, accessible, and empowering learning spaces.

I work with students of all ages, from high school to graduate level, in economics, social sciences, research methods, academic writing, and APA/MLA citation styles.

About the lesson

My teaching style is student-centered and focused on helping learners understand concepts rather than memorize them. I adapt each session to the student’s needs using clear explanations, guided practice, and real examples, while also building study and writing skills for long-term success.

A typical lesson starts by identifying the problem area, breaking it down step by step, practicing together, and ending with a short recap and next steps.

What sets me apart is my background in Economics, graduate studies in Education focused on equity and social justice, and experience in higher education. This allows me to support students in a clear, structured, and accessible way.

I work with students of all ages, from elementary school to graduate level, in economics, social sciences, research methods, academic writing, and APA/MLA citation.
