About Amber
I have been passionate about academic English for my entire academic career, and writing for tailored topics is one of my biggest strengths. I finished my undergraduate degree in philosophy, which is a writing-intensive discipline, in December of 2022, and I am currently pursuing two masters' degrees.
I believe every student is capable of learning as many new things as they want to, and I think the key to academic success is finding ways to change your learning methods that work for your unique brain and skills.

I teach primarily via Zoom (or other video-call services that work for you); I have 30-minute, 1-hour, and 2-hour slots available. If students are looking to learn or improve a specific topic, we will go over the concepts of that topic and they will complete a short quiz to demonstrate understanding. If a student needs help with a specific assignment, we will look at the assignment together before coming up with a learning plan to complete the assignment with as much quality as possible (this may take between 1-3 sessions, depending on level of instruction required).
I ask students before we begin lessons what their learning style is - I am able to teach using mostly written material, spoken material, hands-on exercises, visual presentations, or any combination of these.
I teach English mechanics, usage, and grammar for any grade level from kindergarten to college, and am happy to provide co-operative editing exercises for any of these grade levels, as well.
For grades 9 through college, I teach persuasive writing and literary analysis. For college students only, I aid in senior thesis writing and research.
