About Andre
I`m a Brazilian musician living in Rio de Janeiro, where I was born. I have been playing piano and acoustic guitar since I was 12. I studied music with local musicians and graduated from the Federal University (UFRJ). As a professional, I played a variety of gigs both in Brazil and on cruise ships abroad. Nowadays I`m a teacher at a music school and still play gigs. I developed my method of teaching observing foreign students struggle to learn Brazilian genres and I can teach you Brazilian piano based on this experience.

I teach online live lessons that go for a period of about an hour. My lessons are specifically about Brazilian music: Samba, Bossa Nova, Baião, Maracatu and the like. They are aimed at musicians of all levels but professionals will benefit more as they might need to play Brazilian styles in their gigs.
I have been teaching for over 10 years at an important music school in Rio de Janeiro: Escola de Música Villa-Lobos. This experience allowed me to develop a method to teach Brazilian music for foreigners. You are going to understand Brazilian rhythms before you play them on the piano/keyboard.
