About Bex

Hi, I’m a qualified math educator with over 10 years of experience teaching students aged 13 to 18. I’ve recently stepped away from a full-time classroom role to focus on a more flexible, balanced lifestyle—while continuing to do what I love: helping students truly understand math. My approach is all about context and clarity. I don’t just teach to the test—I help students make sense of math through real-life examples and personalized support. Whether it’s building confidence with the basics or extending learning, I tailor each lesson to how the student learns best. I’m passionate about creating a space where students feel confident, capable, and supported. I also speak Samoan and English fluently, which helps me connect with a wider range of learners and families. With a strong foundation in both curriculum knowledge and practical teaching strategies, I aim to make math meaningful—not just another subject to get through, but a valuable skill for life.

About the lesson

Teaching Style I'm a visual educator who adapts lessons to suit each student's learning style. I use real-life examples to make math engaging and practical—like using budgeting, sports, or design to explain core concepts. My goal is to build understanding and confidence by connecting math to everyday life. Lesson Length Sessions run 30–60 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. Qualifications & Experience I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and 10 years’ experience teaching math to students aged 13–18, with a focus on real-world application and individualized support. Who It’s For I tutor secondary school students (13–18) of all levels—whether they need support with the basics or want to extend their knowledge with practical, real-world math.
