About Joneice
My journey in education began back in 2014 as a bright-eyed Pre-K teacher in Houston, Texas. Since then, I’ve been on an incredible mission to spark a love for learning in every child I serve. In 2019, I proudly joined the IDEA family in Austin, TX as an 8th Grade ELA teacher. Since then, I’ve grown into a High Performing Teacher, earned the title of Teacher of the Year, became a Master Teacher, and was honored with a TIA Exemplary Designation. Today, I proudly serve as an Assistant Principal of Instruction—now stepping into Year 2 in my campus leadership! Born and raised in Austin, I’m a proud product of Pflugerville ISD and a graduate of John B. Connally High School. I went on to earn my bachelor’s degree from Langston University—shout out to my HBCU family! My passion for literacy has always guided my classroom instruction and now drives my leadership vision. I firmly believe that creating a culture of excellence, building strong reading systems, and fostering genuine partnerships with families and the community are all key to student success. I’m excited to collaborate with each of you as we continue to push for academic excellence. When I’m not working hard for our scholars, you can find me enjoying time with my family, traveling, or dancing to a good beat! Let’s make this year our best one yet—together!
