About Layan
Hi! My name is Layan, and I am currently studying Civil Engineering at the University of Queensland. I graduated from Mansfield State High School with an ATAR of 97.4, having completed English, Literature, Mathematics Methods, Physics, French Extension, and French. I am passionate about helping students succeed and enjoy teaching because I love seeing others gain confidence and understanding in their studies. I tutor English (up to Year 12 Literature) and Mathematics (up to Year 12 Methods), providing lessons that are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on sharing strategies and skills that helped me excel, supporting students to achieve their own academic goals.

My tutoring approach is student-centered and tailored to each individual’s needs. I focus on building strong conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence in both English and Mathematics. I use a mix of explanation, worked examples, and practice exercises, along with active discussion to ensure students fully grasp the material.
A typical lesson lasts 60–90 minutes, depending on the student’s goals and schedule. Each session is structured to cover new concepts, review previous material, and complete practice questions to consolidate learning.
My lessons are suitable for students of all ages in English (up to Year 12 Literature) and Mathematics (primary through Year 12 Methods). I tailor lessons to individual learning styles, ensuring that each student feels supported and challenged appropriately.
