About Jorge

I’ve been tutoring consistently for 5 years, both through a company and independently, with a high retention rate among my clients. My students have seen big improvements in their grades and gained a lot more confidence in their subjects. I truly believe anyone can learn anything with the right context and care. My approach is all about meeting students where they’re at, guiding them step by step, and helping them feel that “aha” moment when something clicks. It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they master things they once found challenging. I also send confirmations the day before lessons to make sure we’re on the same page. I work with high school to early college students, whether it’s homework help, test prep, or catching up on missed material—I’ve been there too, and I’m here to help!

About the lesson

My teaching method above all else adapts to the student. Everyone learns differently and it's important to identify what those differences are to best help the person. I guide students through problems so they can learn by applying what they know and then using that as a base to teach from, especially when it's something new. Learning through guided application is the best way to fully understand something. A typical lesson plan would consist of a brief intro to what we're learning and why (people are more driven when they know why they're doing something). Then I break down the new concept step-by-step making it very easy to follow. We then do practice problems that start really easy and slowly get more challenging. Lastly ending it with a review of what we learned. What sets me apart is definitely my ability to fill in gaps of knowledge for people when learning a new topic. Like I said previously, it makes it so much harder to learn a new concept, when you don't know previous concepts. That's why most people need help with math, and that's when things feel difficult. However, I bring concepts down to such simple and easy-to-understand baselines and build so students can actually understand what they're doing. This also really builds confidence when they are working towards something and succeed. Lessons are for high school to early college students, but I can help with just about anything: Calculus 1-3, Linear Algebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra, AP Statistics, and more
