About Carl
I am an MD graduate with two years of research experience at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where I worked on clinical and translational research. I also have hands-on U.S. clinical experience and previously worked as a Medical Assistant at MGH.
Having completed USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, and Step 3, I understand both the medical knowledge required and the exam strategy needed for NBME- and UWorld-style questions. I especially enjoy breaking complex concepts into simple, clinically relevant explanations and helping students understand how basic science connects to real patient presentations.

I focus on helping students think through questions the way they appear on UWorld and NBME-style exams. My lessons are highly exam-focused, using clinical vignettes, question interpretation, elimination strategies, pattern recognition, and review of why each answer choice is right or wrong.
A typical session combines targeted content review with practice questions and discussion of high-yield concepts. I adapt each lesson to the student’s weaknesses, whether that means anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, or integrated USMLE Step 1 preparation.
My goal is not just memorization, but helping students recognize how concepts are tested and become faster and more confident when approaching NBME and UWorld-style questions.
