About Reina
Hi! I am a cellist and teacher who recently graduated from The Juilliard School with both bachelor's and master's degrees in Cello Performance. I have been playing the cello for almost 20 years and have been teaching since high school. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of students, from complete beginners to advanced cellists preparing for auditions, competitions, and college music programs. I also have experience coaching chamber groups and leading orchestra sectionals, helping students develop both individual and collaborative musicianship.
Through my lifelong musical education and professional training, I have developed extensive knowledge of cello technique, posture and injury prevention, tone production, intonation, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation. My studies at Juilliard allowed me to learn from world-class performers and educators, and I want to pass those insights on to my students.

My teaching philosophy centers on meeting each student where they are and creating personalized lessons that support their goals. Whether a student wants to learn the fundamentals, prepare for an audition, improve orchestral excerpts, or simply enjoy making music, I tailor my approach to their needs and learning style. I believe that strong technical foundations and a positive learning environment help students build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
