About Sofia

Hi there, my name is Sofia! I am a half Italian and half Peruvian girl living in the United Kingdom offering English lessons :)

I am a committed, hard-working and enthusiastic person, that takes the utmost care in everything she does. My friends and family describe me as a very energetic and solar individual, with a strong sense of responsibility and who is extremely caring for others.

After graduating with a 37/45 from an IB school with a bilingual diploma in English and Italian, I moved to the United Kingdom, where I have been living for the past 2 years. Currently, I am a second year student at the University of Warwick studying Sociology and Global Sustainable Development.

In addition to studying and tutoring, I have a passion for singing, cooking and hiking. I also love to travel, learn about new cultures and explore new cuisines...although in my very unbiased opinion nothing beats Italian food!

About the lesson

Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your English language skills, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals at the best of my ability. Wether you want to improve your oral skills by practicing speaking, learn grammar, improve your analytical skills, practice essay writing, need help writing cover letters and CVs - I look forward to start working with you!

My past teaching experiences:
- I have 3 years of experience teaching English, Spanish and Italian both in person and online.
- I have taught to adults, teenagers and children from different nationalities and at different levels of knowledge.
- I offered language integration support in English at my previous school for new international students who struggled with language barriers.

My teaching methodology:
--> Student-centred approach, tailoring lessons to individual needs, learning styles and goals.
--> Incorporates interactive and engaging techniques, such as using multimedia resources, authentic texts, practical exercises and conversational oral techniques.
--> My expertise lies in fostering language development, enhancing communication skills, and facilitating cultural immersion.
--> Most importantly, I am committed to creating a patient, supportive and inclusive learning environment!

The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour, but I am flexible to your personal needs!
