About Céthie

My name is Céthie Mathieu and I am a have a bachelor's degree in English-Spanish Applied Foreign Languages and a master's degree in English Teaching for Secondary Education.

I studied for a semester in England at Newbold University in Bracknell to improve my English in 2019 and I also volunteered at summer camps in the United States for 3 months that same year.

I have the BAFA (Brevet d'Aptitude aux Fonctions d'Animateur) and I have been a scout leader since 2016. I have also worked in a recreation centre and supervised summer camps. Thanks to these experiences, I have become more and more accustomed to supervising children and young people, to listening to them and knowing how to adapt to each of their personalities.

During my schooling, I loved and still love helping my classmates with their homework when they have difficulty understanding or organising themselves.

My interests: I really like everything related to music! I like to sing, I play the violin and a little piano. I also really like sports and I have always enjoyed doing different sports activities (gymnastics, athletics, body combat, boxing, dance, etc.)

Regarding my personality, I am someone who is often cheerful, I am told by my pears that I smile a lot , I like to help and make sure that those around me are doing well. I am also very organised. I like when everything has its place and I like to have a clear schedule and follow "To Do Lists".

About the lesson

I plan to teach lessons by taking into account the character of each of my students. I believe that we all have a different way of learning and I am in favour of taking advantage of each student's respective abilities to help them improve in the subject(s) that concern them. For example, if a student does not like to write, I might focus with them on working on their auditory or visual memory (with drawings, diagrams rather than with text).

My classes are aimed at anyone who wants to improve their English, have help with exercises given in class, but also at people who simply want a partner to practice the language.

I can also help with preparation for an oral or other type of exam if needed.

During the first lesson, we will agree on the student's needs and the goals they wish to achieve. Each session can then be tailored to suit the needs of the moment.
