About Hanako
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Music Theatre at Baldwin Wallace University. My love for collaboration and education grew immensely at college and coaching students to act and sing is a big passion of mine. I work well with students of all ages and of all experience levels, and I am very good with children. Additionally, in my time at college, I have studied vocal pedagogy (or in other words, the physics of the voice) so I can properly guide my students interested in music theatre to sing healthily alongside their acting. I am currently a working actor in New York City who loves to coach when not onstage or auditioning:) A few previous acting credits include shows with the Cleveland Orchestra, Great Lakes Theater, Idaho Shakespeare Theater, and 4 Chairs Theater.

Learning to act can feel like a very vulnerable, scary adventure. But I am here to teach you know that it isn't as scary as it seems!
I value creating a safe, supportive environment for all of my students in my lessons. Every lesson is tailored to fit each individual's goals and needs. If the student is interested in music theatre coaching, I guide each student using healthy singing and song acting techniques to equip them with safe practices to use at home in between lessons.
I provide an initial 30 minute consultation with my students, free of charge, as an introduction and to get to know each other. I want to make sure that I know my student's individual goals before we really dive into collaborating. After that, the fun begins!

Hanako is one of the most talented actors I know. She has a wonderful education and is able to dig deep into a script and really help you understand big pictures. Sometimes there are important points in a script that aren’t written in words and Hanako is wonderful at breaking that down.

Details
I offer the first 30 minutes of our first lesson together for free because I believe in taking time to chat and get to know you before we dive into working together. During this time, we will talk about what you want to accomplish with these lessons, prior training or experience (if you have any, no worries if not!), and teaching styles that work best with you. This time together is incredibly valuable to me and will help me so much better understand you as a student.
Anything beyond the first half hour will be $50/hr. I am available to do half hour or one hour lessons. If you would like a longer time, please let me know and we can make it work.
