About Maria

I have been giving private lessons from the first year of college, so almost eight years. I have taught students of different ages, both adults and high school students. In the first case it was students decided to learn English for personal reasons (travel, vacation) or business (as an alternative to take courses offered by their respective companies or private schools). As for the high school students, I have had to deal both with preparation for exams (PET, FCE, TOEFL, IELTS) and with intensive study to improve school grades (some of them quite serious).

About the lesson

I am a graduate of the University of Padua in Modern Languages for Communication and International Cooperation. I offer lessons of any level of English and I am also available for conversation (my accent is very good, having lived nine months in England). I am especially skilled when it comes to private lessons and I am very careful not only the needs but also the characteristics of my students, so that I can offer the most suitable learning method to each. I can also take care of proofreading and preparation for ESOL exams, having myself taken the PET, FCE and IELTS exams, with excellent results. Moreover, both my Bachelor and my Master thesis were on English literature, so I can provide support in this field both at school and university levels. Finally, since I began studying English on my own (in parallel to school education, which I did not find satisfactory) I am also enthusiastic about methods of learning through music, film and literature in English and I am willing to give lessons including this type of approach.

In case i need to travel to the student's house, or any other selected place, more than once a week, the price might be a bit higher due to the cost of transportation (bus ticket or car fuel).
