I’m Ng Yi Jiang, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed. I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving and learning new things, and I want to share that with you. My teaching methodology is focused on building strong conceptual understanding, critical thinking, and practical application of knowledge. I adapt my lessons to meet each student’s individual needs, ensuring that I scaffold the learning process to help them progress from basic understanding to more complex analysis. I incorporate a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and independent work to keep lessons engaging and interactive. For subjects like math and science, I emphasize problem-solving techniques and real-world applications. .
I often use visual aids, practice exercises, and quizzes to reinforce learning, ensuring students are able to grasp key concepts before moving on to more difficult material. I also incorporate regular reviews to help students retain knowledge and prepare effectively for exams.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours. This length allows enough time for thorough explanation, guided practice, and feedback, without overwhelming the student.
Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
I have been working as a part-time tutor at Smargent Tuition since August 2024, teaching English, Math, and Science to primary and secondary students. I have experience working with both local students and international Chinese students aiming to enter Singapore schools. My background in engineering and teaching resource design has equipped me with strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts for students.

My lessons are tailored to students from primary to secondary levels (ages 7–16). I work with both local students and international students, helping them achieve their academic goals in English, Math, and Science.
