About Olatunji
I am a native Yoruba speaker with years of hands-on experience translating and interpreting the language professionally, alongside a background as a freelance writer and journalist. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics and have spent years working closely with communities where Yoruba is spoken daily, giving me a deep, practical understanding of the language beyond textbooks.
I have translated documents professionally since 2019 and bring a patient, structured approach to teaching, honed through years of public speaking and communication in ministry work. I understand how to break down a language for learners at every level, from complete beginners to those seeking fluency for family, travel, or personal growth.
My goal is to make you comfortable speaking Yoruba naturally and confidently, not just memorizing rules. I look forward to helping you connect with the language and the culture behind it.

Yoruba is more than a language — it's a gateway into one of West Africa's richest cultures, and I'm here to guide you through it as a native speaker. My teaching method blends practical conversation, grammar fundamentals, and cultural context, so you don't just memorize words — you understand how and when to use them.
A typical lesson starts with reviewing what you've learned, moves into new vocabulary and sentence structure, and ends with real conversation practice so you build confidence speaking from day one. I tailor each plan to your goals, whether you're learning for family, travel, business, or personal interest.
What sets me apart is years of hands-on experience translating and interpreting Yoruba professionally, which means I teach the language as it's actually spoken and written — not just textbook Yoruba.
My lessons are open to complete beginners, intermediate learners looking to build fluency, and anyone wanting to reconnect with their heritage.
