About Gege

Hello! I'm a native Mandarin speaker from China, currently studying at the University of Melbourne. I graduated from one of China’s top high schools, where I developed a strong foundation in Chinese language and literature. With my background and clear standard pronunciation, I aim to help students learn Chinese in a way that feels both enjoyable and meaningful. My lessons are always well-prepared and tailored to your level and goals. Whether you're learning for fun, personal growth or cultural interest, I take each student seriously and work hard to support your progress. I’m patient, friendly and reliable, and I always try to create a safe space where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and grow at their own pace. Learning a language takes time, but with the right support and a bit of consistency, you’ll be surprised how far you can go. I’m here to guide you step by step, and I’ll always be happy to answer your questions and adjust the lesson to suit your needs. About the lesson

I teach Mandarin in a fun and relaxed way, perfect for anyone who’s just starting out or wants to learn for interest. You don’t need any background in Chinese at all. I’ll help you build your skills step by step and actually enjoy the process. I focus on real-life conversations, useful words and phrases, and getting the pronunciation right. We’ll cover daily topics like greetings, food, hobbies, travel and more. I also love sharing Chinese culture in class, like traditional festivals, cool facts, and everyday habits. Each class is about 60 minutes and I always adjust the content depending on what you’re interested in. I use simple explanations, games, songs and stories to keep things interesting and easy to follow. No stressful tests or memorizing long lists of words. I’ve taught both kids and adults, and my lessons are great for: Complete beginners People learning for fun or travel Anyone curious about Chinese language and culture I’m a native speaker from China and graduated from one of the top high schools there. Right now I’m studying at the University of Melbourne and I love helping others explore my language in a fun and friendly way. If you're just getting started and want a patient and supportive teacher, I’d love to help you learn.
