About Gilmar

Dear students, I am writing to express my enthusiastic interest in transitioning from a successful career in civil engineering and mathematics within the oil and gas industry to a rewarding role in the educational field. With a robust professional background enriched by international experiences in Brazil, Shanghai, Germany, and the Netherlands, and having lived in America for eight years, I bring a unique global perspective and a passion for teaching and mentoring. Throughout my career, I have worked with several leading companies in the oil and gas sector, where I honed my technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. These roles provided me with invaluable opportunities to work in diverse cultural environments, fostering a deep appreciation for different perspectives and learning approaches. My time in Shanghai, China, Germany, and the Netherlands has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and adaptability, which I am eager to bring into the classroom. I am passionate about inspiring and guiding future generations, and I believe that my extensive experience in complex problem-solving and project management will be highly beneficial in an educational setting. About the lesson

I’m enthusiastic about how to apply mathematics in engineering, because I’ve been doing ships and wellhead platforms for oil and gas companies. Now, as a former engineer, I can teach my students with all my strong knowledge and practicing. Mathematics is easy if you love it, but you can learn it if you simply are open-minded to it. I can give to my students practical examples of how to use mathematics in life, using mockups to visualize 3D Geometry. Very excited to meet you guys.
