About Jan Carry

Hello!
I’m Jan Carry Guiruela, an experienced and dedicated Science teacher who is passionate about helping students understand Science in a simple, engaging, and meaningful way.

I have experience teaching elementary and junior high school Science and supporting students through classroom activities, assessments, review sessions, and Science quiz competitions. I believe that every student can learn when lessons are presented in a way that matches their learning pace and needs.

My teaching approach is patient, student-centered, and interactive. I break down challenging concepts into simple explanations and use real-life examples, visual aids, guided activities, and practice exercises to make lessons easier to understand. I also encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and explain concepts in their own words.

As a tutor, I aim to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to participate, make mistakes, and improve. I do not simply give answers. I guide students through the learning process so they can develop independence and confidence in their abilities.

Whether you need help understanding your science lessons, preparing for an upcoming examination, strengthening your basic knowledge, or getting ready for a science quiz bee, I am here to support you step by step.

About the lesson

As a Science teacher, I believe that students learn best when lessons are clear, engaging, interactive, and connected to real-life experiences. My goal is not only to help students memorize concepts but also to help them understand why and how things happen.
I use a student-centered and interactive approach that adapts to each learner's level, learning pace, and needs.
A typical lesson begins with a short review or warm-up activity to connect the new topic with what the student already knows. I then introduce the lesson using simple explanations and examples.
I also have experience preparing students for Science assessments and quiz bees, which allows me to incorporate critical-thinking questions, review strategies, and challenging activities when appropriate.
My lessons are suitable for:

Elementary students, particularly Grades 4–6. Whether a student is struggling with a basic concept or preparing for a challenging assessment, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where they can understand Science, ask questions confidently, and enjoy learning.
