About Maria
Hey! I'm Maria and I'm excited to be your next drum teacher! I am originally from Panama City, Panama but currently live in Los Angeles, California. This means that I can teach both English and Spanish-speaking students.
I moved to LA to pursue my Bachelor's Degree in Drum Performance at Musicians Institute. I also have an Associates Degree in Vocals :)
I started playing drums at 18, so I know how it feels to want to learn an instrument as an adult. Drums are such a rewarding instrument though, so there is no reason why you should shy away from learning, no matter your age! I can help you play and transcribe your favorite grooves. We can also talk about music theory, songwriting concepts, or our favorite music!

I started learning how to play drums in my late teens. While that may seem really early for some, I actually felt like I was late to the game! But this gave me an idea of how it feels to learn an instrument when you're older.
Drums are such a rewarding instrument to play with a quick payoff! And whenever you get curious about some music theory, I can also cover that aspect and simplify it for my fellow drummers! I have a lot of experience tutoring drummers on theory concepts :)
