About Tatty
I finished my degree in History in June 2021, graduating with a First Degree. I am passionate about teaching and I am undertaking a graduate scheme in September 2022. There, I will be training to become a qualified teacher through teaching History at a secondary school. Through being a passionate and knowledgeable tutor, one can give pupils confidence in their learning and ability in school that they may have been lacking. Education is an extremely powerful way of shaping the world stage through teaching future generations, it is an important field that I am enthusiastic about being involved in. I want to share my knowledge and aid in the confidence and learning of pupils, enabling them to gain academic results they may not have yet experienced.

My teaching approach would depend on the nature of the student’s reasons for tutoring. Hence initially, my approach would be student-led, in which the student would raise the difficulties they were having with the subject chosen. Then from here, depending on their difficulties, I would alter my approach to become more interactive or teacher-led. Say, for example, the student was struggling with contextual knowledge of the subject, they would need more teacher-led learning to fill gaps in their knowledge. On the other hand, if they needed help with answering questions and essay writing skills, my approach would be more interactive, involving more feedback and input on the student’s behalf. I would adapt my teaching techniques to every pupil individually, with a varied pace of learning and visual techniques depending on the pupil’s preference. I would teach a minimum of 40 minutes per lesson but would prefer an hour.
