About William
The smell of rosin and old guitar strings defines my workspace in San Francisco. I have spent 13 years performing while balancing a teaching career for those wanting to play songs for friends. My Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Industry from Belmont University gives me the technical edge for your progress. I assist adults and returning learners who desire structure in their practice routines.
Many students arrive wanting to read tabs or fix their electric technique to sound like the records they love. We address barre chords, ear training, and soloing through a lens of music theory that actually makes sense. My background as a performer keeps my teaching grounded in real application.
You might find that I am quite hands-on and patient with common frustrations. Most of my time is spent making sure the instrument feels like an extension of your own body. Feel free to reach out if you want to see if we are a good match.

Singing and guitar function as one single skill rather than two separate chores. 100 percent of my guitar instruction prioritizes the song structure over dry exercises. You can expect to integrate improvisation and rhythmic accuracy right from our first meeting.
My training from Belmont University informs how I break down complex solos for beginner or intermediate ears. A free trial session is available to assess your starting level before we commit to a routine. This allows us to calibrate your growth based on exactly what you need to master. I truly enjoy watching you realize that you are finally playing the music you love.
