About Michelle
Do you find that your practice sessions feel aimless or disconnected from your long-term goals? To keep your momentum high, I provide a dedicated practice module with every lesson that maps out your specific goals for the week. We cover everything from essential ear training to complex fingerpicking patterns that bring your songs to life.
I emphasize consistent feedback on your acoustic technique so that you are never left guessing about your hand placement. Reading tabs effectively is a skill we build early, allowing you to access a wide range of music immediately. I find that when students understand the logic behind their fretboard, they enjoy the instrument significantly more.
My goal is to ensure you feel a sense of accomplishment by the end of every meeting. It is genuinely fun to witness those moments when a difficult transition finally clicks into place.

Working with busy adults often means navigating a schedule that changes from week to week. I have taught 160 students throughout my career, many of whom are professionals looking to refine their acoustic fingerpicking skills. You might think that starting guitar later in life presents a barrier, but my experience shows that maturity often brings a faster grasp of theory. Having studied multiple instruments at The Glenn Gould School, I understand how to balance complex theory with practical, playable results.
My 7 years of instruction allow me to pinpoint exactly why chord transitions or barre chords might be stalling your progress. I keep my methods simple and effective, mirroring the way I teach all three siblings in the family units I oversee. It is a pleasure to watch students move from confusion to fluidity as they practice. I am happy to support your journey as a musician and look forward to our first session.
