About Violet
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar and a Master of Contemporary Music, with 10 years of experience teaching students ranging from beginners to advanced performers. My expertise includes fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, solo and ensemble playing, and performance coaching. I emphasize personalized instruction, adapting lessons to individual skill levels, goals, and learning styles to ensure every student progresses confidently and creatively. My teaching philosophy centers on combining structured technique development with creative exploration. I employ demonstrations, stepwise instruction, repertoire building, ear training, and performance exercises to make lessons engaging and effective. I encourage students to explore musicality, develop self-expression, and connect emotionally with the pieces they play. Creativity, confidence, and technical skill are nurtured simultaneously to produce well-rounded musicians. Outside teaching, I remain active as a performer, collaborator, and researcher in contemporary music. I expose students to various genres, ensemble experiences, and real-world performance practices. Witnessing students transform from hesitant beginners into expressive, skilled guitarists is deeply fulfilling. My mission is to cultivate artistic voice, technical mastery, and lifelong passion for guitar music, ensuring learners thrive in any musical context.

Guitar lessons are designed to develop technical skill, expressive playing, and musical creativity in an encouraging and student-focused environment. I focus on chord progressions, fingerstyle techniques, strumming patterns, soloing, improvisation, and performance preparation. Lessons emphasize musical phrasing, tone production, sight-reading, and ensemble collaboration. I create a welcoming environment where students feel safe to explore, experiment, and grow at their own pace while cultivating musical confidence and stage presence.
Lesson plans are adapted to individual goals and experience. Beginners build foundational chord shapes, rhythm, and basic songs, gradually expanding to more complex repertoire. Intermediate students refine technique, explore advanced fingerpicking, learn improvisation, and develop style across multiple genres. Advanced learners focus on performance refinement, composition, soloing, improvisation, and live presentation. Each session combines structured exercises, creative exploration, and critical listening to ensure steady progress, skill mastery, and musical enjoyment.
Guitar learning extends beyond physical technique; it fosters creativity, discipline, emotional expression, and self-confidence. Students gain a deeper understanding of music theory, develop stylistic versatility, and enhance their ability to interpret music authentically.
