About Callie
I discovered my passion for guitar early in life, drawn to its versatility and expressive potential. This led me to pursue a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and an M.Mus in Contemporary Music Studies. Over 8 years, I have taught students of various ages and skill levels, guiding them to develop technical skill, expressive ability, and musical creativity.
My teaching approach balances structured exercises, repertoire study, improvisation, and performance coaching. Lessons are interactive, motivating, and adapted to individual goals, fostering creativity, technical growth, and confidence. I provide constructive feedback and strategies for consistent improvement.
Outside of teaching, I perform, collaborate with musicians, and explore multiple genres to enrich my instruction. Witnessing students progress from beginners to confident performers is deeply rewarding. Supporting their technical, artistic, and creative development remains the most fulfilling part of my work.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students develop both technical skill and musical expression simultaneously. I focus on finger technique, chord progressions, scales, solo phrasing, improvisation, rhythm, tone shaping, and dynamics. Lessons incorporate repertoire study, ear training, improvisational exercises, and performance practice to help learners connect deeply with music. Each session balances structured guidance and creative exploration to enhance skill, confidence, and artistic identity.
Lesson plans are customised for each student. Beginners develop posture, basic chords, simple melodies, and rhythm. Intermediate learners refine scales, advanced chords, sight-reading, improvisation, and stylistic interpretation. Advanced learners focus on soloing, composition, ensemble collaboration, and performance preparation. Feedback, practice strategies, and goal-oriented exercises are integrated to ensure measurable progress and skill retention.
Guitar lessons also cultivate creativity, discipline, and stage presence. Students learn to perform confidently, improvise fluently, and express themselves musically. My goal is to guide learners towards technical mastery, expressive depth, and lifelong enjoyment of guitar.
