About Amara
I have been teaching guitar for nine years, motivated by a love for music and a desire to help students grow creatively and technically. I work with learners of all ages and skill levels, designing lessons that combine structure, creativity, and personal attention. I emphasise technical development, improvisation, repertoire building, and interpretive coaching. Lessons focus on fingerstyle, chords, rhythm, and expression while nurturing individuality, confidence, and artistic growth. My goal is to provide a supportive environment that encourages progress, exploration, and self-expression. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and explore diverse musical styles to continually refine my practice and inspire students. Watching learners evolve from beginners to expressive, confident musicians capable of performance and improvisation is deeply rewarding. Helping students achieve technical mastery, artistic expression, and lifelong connection to music is the foundation of my teaching philosophy.

My guitar lessons focus on developing both technique and artistry, providing students with a comprehensive and inspiring learning experience. Each lesson incorporates exercises in chords, scales, fingerstyle, rhythm, and repertoire, along with improvisation and performance coaching. I create a supportive environment where learners are encouraged to explore their musical voice while building skill, confidence, and expression. Lessons balance structured technical work with creative exploration to ensure consistent progress and enjoyment. Beginners learn basic chords, strumming patterns, finger placement, and simple songs. Intermediate learners refine barre chords, fingerstyle technique, improvisation, and expand their repertoire. Advanced students focus on soloing, performance preparation, composition, and expressive interpretation. Assignments include technical exercises, repertoire practice, listening tasks, and optional recordings. Lessons are personalised to individual goals, abilities, and musical interests. Students gain technical proficiency, musical expression, and performance confidence. Many perform in recitals, collaborate with peers, or create original compositions. Guitar study cultivates discipline, focus, creativity, and resilience, offering skills that extend beyond music. My aim is to help learners develop both mastery and artistry, empowering them to explore their unique musical voice and share it confidently with others.
