About Daphne
I have 10 years of experience teaching guitar to students of all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced performers. I hold a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Music Studies, providing deep knowledge of technique, musical theory, improvisation, and performance skills. My teaching blends technical rigour with creative exploration, helping students develop both competence and artistry on the instrument.
Lessons include chord and scale practice, fingerstyle technique, improvisation, soloing, repertoire study, rhythm exercises, and performance preparation. Each session is personalised to the student’s level, interests, and goals, ensuring steady, engaging progress. I focus on building technical precision, expressive capability, and stage confidence while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music.
Outside teaching, I perform regularly, explore diverse styles, and compose music, bringing real-world insights into lessons. Witnessing students transform from hesitant beginners to confident, expressive musicians is profoundly fulfilling. My mission is to nurture guitarists who are both technically skilled and creatively expressive, able to communicate musically with confidence and individuality.

Guitar lessons are most effective when students develop both technical skill and expressive capability simultaneously. I focus on chord structures, fingerstyle technique, scales, improvisation, soloing, rhythm, tone shaping, and performance readiness. Lessons blend structured technical exercises, repertoire study, improvisation, and creative interpretation, allowing students to cultivate both proficiency and artistry. Students are encouraged to explore the instrument confidently while building solid technique and musicality.
Lesson plans are customised to each student’s level and goals. Beginners focus on basic chords, finger exercises, strumming patterns, and simple songs to establish solid technique. Intermediate learners refine scales, arpeggios, improvisation, rhythm, and stylistic interpretation. Advanced learners tackle complex repertoire, performance skills, creative improvisation, tone shaping, and stage presence. Each session balances technical precision with creative freedom, fostering comprehensive musical development.
The aim is to help learners develop confidence, musical expression, and technical proficiency. Lessons inspire students to perform comfortably, interpret music creatively, and explore the guitar as a versatile instrument. Consistent practice, personalised guidance, and a supportive environment ensure students grow both technically and artistically.
