About Vivek
With over 15 years of teaching and performance experience, I understand that learning music is not just about playing an instrument, but about nurturing confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for music. I am Trinity College London Grade 8 certified and have worked closely with students of different age groups, guiding them with patience, care, and a structured learning approach.
As a teacher, I place strong importance on creating a safe, encouraging, and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves. Parents can expect clear communication, well-planned lessons, and steady progress that is appropriate to each child’s age and ability. I focus on strong fundamentals such as correct technique, reading skills, rhythm, and musical understanding, ensuring students build a solid foundation from the beginning.
I believe in long-term development rather than quick results. Regular feedback, practice guidance, and realistic goal-setting are an important part of my teaching process. Parents are always kept informed about their child’s progress and areas of improvement.
My goal is to support each student not only as a music teacher, but as a mentor—helping them grow in confidence, focus, and creativity through music. Whether your child is learning for enjoyment, school activities, or graded examinations, you can be assured of professional, caring, and committed guidance.

My approach as a teacher is centered on structured learning, strong fundamentals, and musical expression. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my methods to suit individual goals, pace, and learning style while maintaining a clear academic framework.
Teaching Techniques & Methods
I focus on developing solid technical foundations alongside musical understanding. This includes correct posture and hand position, finger independence, reading skills, ear training, and music theory integrated with practical playing. I also emphasize tone production, dynamics, phrasing, voicing, and pedalling, helping students move beyond mechanical playing to expressive performance.
Structure of a Typical Class
Each class generally includes:
Technical warm-ups (scales, arpeggios, exercises)
Repertoire work with detailed guidance on interpretation
Theory and sight-reading connected to the lesson material
Review of practice strategies and progress planning
Classes are goal-oriented and progressive, ensuring steady improvement.
