About Latonya
Teaching exists because I want to demystify the complex fretboard logic behind my favorite records. 6 years of running a studio has shown me that technique is just a tool for creative expression. Holding a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music Performance from Berklee College of Music informs my outlook on improvisation, ear training, and music theory.
Helping players conquer barre chords and power chords remains a core focus of my daily work. I emphasize acoustic technique alongside grade exam prep to ensure a balanced foundation. Expect a straightforward path where we connect the dots between your favorite songs and the mechanics of why they work.

Electric guitar strings hum against your fingertips while we dial in a tone inspired by Scofield or Metheny. The room feels alive with high energy as we transition from strumming patterns to intricate soloing concepts.
Bringing a guitar to our initial 10 minute free trial session allows me to properly assess your starting level and current coordination. We might spend 10 minutes dissecting a tricky Hendrix lead or breaking down reading tabs for a modern track.
It is always satisfying to see a student navigate the fretboard with more clarity after just a few tweaks. You will find that my approach mirrors the adventurous spirit of jazz fusion legends. Drop by the studio soon for a hands-on session that prioritizes honesty above everything else.
