About Isla
"Patient guidance defines my approach to music instruction. I hold a music degree and have spent 13 years gigging Latin music across Australia.
My technical toolkit includes reading tabs, blues progressions, grade exam prep, and songwriting. I offer instruction in fingerpicking, lead and rhythm guitar, ear training, music theory, and electric technique. I am a near-peer teacher who understands the nuances of the instrument. "Many learners struggle to find arrangements that actually sound musical at their current level. Getting songs to sound right is often a matter of simplification.
I solve this by turning your song requests into custom, simplified arrangements. My 13 years of experience inform how I adapt these techniques for hobbyists and intermediate students.
You will build a foundation in rhythm and lead playing. We keep things grounded in real music. Expect a stress-free environment for growth."
