About Michael

H, I'm a musician from Edinburgh. I play guitar. I have around 10 years experience of playing guitar, gigs, writing and recording music. I can teach acoustic or electric guitar. I can get you started to go on to become creative and confident guitar players.

About the lesson

My approach is first to find out what you want from playing the guitar. And I adapt the learning process to your needs and ambitions.
There is a strong emphasis on clarity of instruction and making it a relaxed and productive use of our time. I have a masters degree from Goldsmiths College university of London which has an excellent reputation for educating teachers. The guitar is a very dynamic and creative instrument. I believe in bringing forward your own way of playing but also can provide you with the technical skills to learn how to flourish for yourself not just as a guitarist but as a performer, writer of songs ( if that's what you want to do) and how to participate effectively within a band situation. Most of all I hope the lessons are enjoyable and my students feel confident in their abilities.
