About Flynn
I’m a dedicated guitar tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching students both in-person and online. I hold a degree in Music with a focus on guitar performance and pedagogy, which has shaped my approach to teaching in meaningful ways. My lessons are designed to support expressive playing, technical fluency, and personal growth through music. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each session to fit individual goals and musical tastes. Whether you're just picking up the guitar or refining your professional skills, I provide guidance that’s clear, motivating, and supportive. I specialize in building a strong foundation in music theory, fretboard fluency, and rhythmic accuracy. My teaching also encourages creativity, with space to explore improvisation, songwriting, and style-based playing. From blues and rock to acoustic fingerstyle or contemporary pop, I help students find their voice on the instrument. I’ve worked with learners across all levels—from complete beginners to advanced and professional players. My guitar teaching approach is creative, flexible, and built around each student’s goals. I focus on making learning enjoyable while building strong technical skills from the ground up. Whether you're just starting or have experience, I shape lessons that match your pace and style. We explore chords, scales, strumming patterns, and picking techniques through songs you enjoy.
I support students who want to play music around the campfire, helping them master rhythm, transitions, and song structure in a relaxed way. I also guide those drawn to blues, with lessons on expressive bends, phrasing, and soloing over 12-bar progressions. We dive into creativity with simple songwriting, riff creation, and genre-based playing in rock, pop, folk, or blues.
To keep lessons engaging, I use backing tracks, visual charts, and play-along practice. I teach how to listen closely, build muscle memory, and play with feeling. You’ll gain skills while learning how to express yourself through music. My goal is to make you a confident, well-rounded guitarist who enjoys every step of the journey.
