About Amy
Sitting on my porch as a child, I watched my elders move their fingers across strings to play a simple chacarera. That early immersion informs my 21 years of experience teaching students from kids to busy professionals. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Music from AIM. My approach focuses on specific skills like improvisation, music theory, and reading tabs. I also guide players through grade exam prep, barre chords, acoustic technique, fingerpicking, and guitar maintenance. Having taught many diverse individuals, I truly enjoy watching a student finally connect with their instrument. Providing a cross-cultural perspective remains central to my identity. It is a joy to share the traditions I grew up with daily.

I help you navigate the fretboard with structured, patient guidance. We integrate theory with the rhythmic soul of bolero and flamenco. My degree from AIM ensures that you receive instruction backed by solid pedagogical principles. We break down complex movements into small, manageable patterns. You will improve your soloing and overall accuracy. I prioritize your growth in a friendly, low-pressure environment. I look forward to helping you find your unique voice on the guitar.
