About José

I have been teaching guitar for almost 15 years and have taught in various schools and academies in the areas of Leiria, Lisbon and Algarve. Some of the students who passed by me attend music universities, have their own bands, are guitar teachers and also professional musicians. The method of the classes will be very practical. Whenever you present something new to play, there will be a theoretical and technical presentation of the musical excerpt to then do several exercises so that the learning is done in a healthy and effective way. In the end, if the student is focused he will achieve all of his goals.

About the lesson

My name is José Vieira and I am a musician and guitar teacher. In my academic career I went to the School of the Hot Club and later I graduated in the Superior School of Music of Lisbon in Guitar Jazz, At the moment I am attending the Masters in Teaching of Jazz Music. As a Guitar Teacher I have already taught in professional and private schools and music academies in the Leiria, Lisbon and Algarve area. As a professional musician I have performed numerous concerts with jazz, pop and rock groups in most of the country's auditoriums and rooms, such as the CCB, Hard Club, MusicBox, House of Music, etc. I have played in the main music festivals in Portugal such as Paredes de Coura, Nos Alive, Crato Festival, etc. Classes can range from basic to advanced. It always depends on the learner's level and will. Electric or Acoustic Guitars, Fingers or Picks, rock or pop, jazz or classical, are steps or genres that the student can choose throughout the class. The development of a musical repertoire based on themes of the most varied styles will be applied over time. Other work done in the class will be based on technical exercises in order to strengthen the student's muscular memory for their familiarization with the instrument. These two points are essential in the evolution of a musician. The classes are at my house in Paiva Couceiro Square in Penha de França in Lisbon. In order to move to the address the price will have to be negotiated. The student does not need to bring his instrument. At the time of class the student will have at his disposal classical, semiacoustic or electric guitar. The material (guidelines, tablatures, etc) will be sent by email and your impression will be at the student's expense.
