About Vishnu

I'm a lead guitarist and composer, and I specialize in progressive rock and metal music. Other genres I have a lot of love for include blues, classic rock, heavy metal, alt rock, grunge, pop and indie! Good music is good music at the end of the day. I went to formal music school for over 5 years, and I've been self-taught since. Music education is very important to me, as I find music to be an extremely expressive art form, and it's crucial for novice musicians to have tools to express themselves.

About the lesson

So many potential musicians tend to quit learning music because it's taught in the 'conventional' - what I would call 'boring' - way. Making music is about self-expression, which is impossible to do if you're too busy practicing scales that you'll forget by tomorrow. I teach guitar by weaving the creative process into the practice routine, so you can experiment and express yourself right from the get-go!

I'm looking to teach adult (18+) beginner or intermediate guitarists. I have experience teaching students of many levels, from ones who have never picked a guitar up before to those looking to have mastery over chords and riffs. Lessons are 30-60 minutes, preferably offline, but I am quite flexible. Cheers!

Excellent! Vishnu is a great teacher to learn from. He is very easy going and is flexiable in his teaching style which makes the student feel comfortable and at ease when learning. Vishnu makes sure that the student understands the concepts and techniques being taught beforehand and throughout his lessons by explaining throughly and slowly with patience where and when needed. This helps the students build up their strength and confidence at their own pace, also making it easier for the student to engage and enjoy the lesson. His practice notes for the lesson are also easy and fun to read visually, making the engagement in the lesson more meaningful and intuitive that further enhance the students abilities to learn and progress through the lessons.
