About Jacob

I've been playing guitar for 30 years, and teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of my musical journey. Over the past 5 years, I've had the opportunity to teach more than 100 students across the U.S. and internationally, each with their own goals, interests, and learning styles.

I believe learning guitar should be enjoyable and encouraging. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and challenging themselves. My goal is to help each student build confidence, develop real skills, and enjoy the process of becoming a better guitarist.

About the lesson

My teaching approach combines strong fundamentals with the music each student enjoys. I tailor each lesson to the student's current ability, musical interests, learning style, and goals. For example, a beginner may focus on chords, rhythm, and basic technique, while a more advanced student may work on improvisation, theory, phrasing, or developing their own playing style.

A typical lesson includes a review of previous material, focused instruction on new concepts or techniques, and time applying those skills through exercises or songs. I adjust the pace and difficulty as the student progresses and provide practice assignments that are specific to their needs.

What sets me apart is my ability to meet students where they are and build lessons around what motivates them. With 30 years of playing experience and 5 years of teaching online, I have worked with over 100 students of different ages, skill levels, and musical interests. I teach beginner through advanced students across a wide range of genres, including rock, blues, jazz, country, folk, and pop.
