About John
I have a degree in math education and 15 years of professional music experience, playing in jazz ensembles, multiple bands, and several musical theater productions. I have been teaching guitar lessons for 5 years, and have taught other instruments such as ukulele, bass guitar, and piano as well.

Beginners of all ages are welcome, I usually follow the Hal Leonard Guitar Method books, but also have some learning material created by myself, including a beginner's chord book with a unique approach focused on rhythm and chord shapes.
I like to ask my students for songs they want to play, and search for a way to make those songs playable for us.
