About Carl-Richard
I've played guitar for 15+ years, a bit less over the years than when I started, but I still play from time to time.
I also have MSc in psychology which is useful for approaching people and understanding their thinking and behavior. I took guitar lessons both privately when starting out and I chose music as an elective course in high school (2 years).
My musical journey started out with metal (Linkin Park, Metallica) and has later evolved to both more heavier types of metal music (i.e. extreme metal) and also the predecessors (rock, prog rock) and various offshoots (progressive metal, jazz fusion, etc.).
This has exposed me to everything from the most extreme and virtuosic types of playing to the softer and more delicate types (often acoustic) which gives me a wide range and perspective which any student could probably benefit from.
My favorite players used to be Kirk Hammett, Frank Zappa and Steve Vai, and today they are Guthrie Govan, Allan Holdsworth and Shawn Lane.

I have an intuitive approach to both playing and teaching that I think translates to all students. I have taken some lessons myself in the past and can translate the absolute basics, and I have learned complicated songs that require in-depth technical execution and knowledge. My main focus is electric guitar but I do also play acoustic guitar.
