Growing up entirely immersed in East African culture, I was born and raised in the bustling capital of Nairobi and spent my formative teenage years along the coast in Mombasa. This personal journey gave me a deep, native appreciation for both standard upcountry Swahili and the rich coastal dialects of the language.
