About JD
I’m a third-year law student at the University of Pretoria. I’m passionate about teaching Afrikaans because I want to help students build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their goals in the language. I find it rewarding to see learners succeed and enjoy the process of learning, and I tailor my lessons to make them engaging, effective, and easy to understand. Outside of academics, I enjoy all kinds of sports, which keeps me active, motivated, and energetic—qualities I bring to my tutoring sessions to make learning fun and dynamic.

Students should choose my lessons because I combine strong Afrikaans knowledge with a patient, goal-focused approach. I achieved 70% in Afrikaans Home Language in matric , so I understand what it takes to excel. I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, whether it’s reading, writing, comprehension, or exam preparation.
My lessons are engaging, structured, and results-driven, helping students not only improve their marks but also gain confidence in speaking and writing Afrikaans. I’m approachable, supportive, and committed to helping you reach your goals, making learning effective and enjoyable.
