About Blu
Hi, I’m Blu—an experienced tutor, teacher, and artist with a strong background in the humanities and a degree from Harvard in Social Anthropology and Film. I’ve worked with students from all walks of life: from driven overachievers to creatively gifted kids who struggle with structure. My approach is flexible, personal, and rooted in curiosity. I help students build confidence in their thinking, sharpen their writing, and connect with their work in a real way. I’ve taught in classrooms, coached students through Ivy League admissions, and helped kids discover their voice through essays and storytelling. What sets me apart is my range—I bring a strong academic foundation, emotional intelligence, and a love of learning that’s hopefully contagious. Whether we’re prepping for a test or crafting a college application, my goal is to help students feel seen, supported, and ready to succeed on their own terms.

My approach is personal and adaptive. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method—I get to know how each student thinks, where they get stuck, and what actually motivates them. Whether we’re working on an SAT passage, a tricky AP concept, or a college essay draft, I keep sessions focused, collaborative, and practical.
I work best with high school students who are bright but overwhelmed—especially those juggling big goals with burnout, creative minds with messy desks. I’ve helped students craft standout applications, boost test scores, and actually enjoy writing again. My goal is always to build skill and confidence that lasts beyond the tutoring.
