About Varshini

I am in my last year of senior school and am looking to pursue a career in Law. I have achieved all A stars at GCSE and all As at AS Level, continuing my studies in English Literature and History. Having taught English before, I am very confident in tutoring all ages and am on track to receive an A star in both of these humanities subjects. My interest for English started when I began writing for essay competitions (something I would recommend for any beginner.) Here, my passion grew and I found myself reading at any opportunity. I believe good writing and reading skills can uplift any young learner and can provide them with eloquence, creativity and a better understanding of the world around them.

About the lesson

When it comes to English I feel that practice can be helpful; however, what truly enables someone to improve is the profound admiration of the subject. Reading different types of literature, exposing the mind to all kinds of fantasies, dimensions and theories can expand your knowledge and therefore help your academic ability on its own. Apart from the more creative aspect of English (which is my favourite part) when it comes to literature analysis there are many techniques that I like to use in an exam setting to help quicken my thought process and process what is in front of me, especially when it comes to more difficult tasks like poetry comparison and large extract questions which can be quite challenging to understand at first. I have helped people in my family and other younger students on how to tackle English analysis and I am confident I will be able to help with exam preparation or simply with helping someone fall in love with the nooks and crannies of the language. Age of student: 13-15 Duration of lesson: 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes
