About Gabriella

I would like to take a moment to share with you why you can trust the quality of tutoring, professionalism, and educational experience. I have a solid background in sciences due to my degree in Biochemistry and minor in chemistry. I have taken many classes to deepen my knowledge in these subjects and that makes me confident and excited to share that knowledge with you! I am committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment where you can thrive. I also recognize that each student is unique and their ways of learning are different so I will do my best to provide an individual learning style.

About the lesson

I believe that as a tutor it is my job to provide you with key concepts and explain them with clarity. I think that asking questions, being engaged, and doing many practice problems is the best way to learn. A typical lesson plan would start with 10 minutes for the introduction, where I would allow the student to ask me any questions about their homework and set the objectives for that day. Then start with a brief explanation for 30 minutes about the themes for the objectives. Then, we would move on to some activities that would take about 20 minutes. That would allow us 15 minutes to review what was discussed in the tutoring session and to go over the problems and another 5 minutes to discuss the homework that will be reviewed in the next session. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I can adapt to the learning style of each person and so my activities will be tailored to each student individually. I also believe that we students need to participate and so I like to have discussions about topics to help students identify their questions. I also believe that a big part of learning depends on us finding real-world applications and so I would provide examples of how these topics are relevant for your day-to-day or in the future. I also value feedback, which means I am always open to their suggestions of how I can improve my tutoring techniques. My target audience is undergraduate-level or high-school students who are interested in improving their knowledge in sciences (chemistry or biology)or their knowledge in a language such as Portuguese.
