About Hannah

There’s a moment in every lesson I teach when a student lights up—not because they hit the “right” note, but because something clicked. Their voice, their story, their sense of self all came into alignment. That’s what I live for as a vocal coach. With 7 years of experience working with school and college-age singers, I specialize in helping students not only sing better—but sing with purpose. We start with vocal fundamentals: breath support, vocal registration, pitch accuracy, and articulation. But just as essential is learning why you sing a song, and how to make it your own. My approach is structured yet creative. I provide custom warm-up sequences, vocal exercises, and technique drills—all adapted to your voice type and goals. But we also focus heavily on emotional connection, stagecraft, and self-reflection. I bring in genre weeks, storytelling workshops, and performance-based challenges to keep learning dynamic. For students pursuing auditions or competitive singing, we develop setlists, monologue integration, and audition confidence techniques. For those seeking joy and personal growth, we build a sustainable practice that centers self-expression and discovery. I use tools like audio feedback, pitch apps, and vocal logs to help students recognize their growth, even on the tough days. My teaching also prioritizes vocal health and mental well-being. We talk about rest, hydration, and vocal load—but also how to manage nerves, stage anxiety, and burnout. Many students come to me not just to build a voice, but to build a stronger sense of identity. That’s an honor I don’t take lightly. Whether you're preparing for a solo, exploring songwriting, or simply learning to love your voice again, our work will always come back to this: You already have a voice worth hearing. My job is to help you trust it, shape it, and let it shine.

About the lesson

The voice is an intricate and expressive instrument formed by the interplay of anatomy, emotion, and cultural narrative. My teaching approach centers on building a solid technical foundation while nurturing interpretive insight and cultural awareness.

We begin with breath management, balanced phonation, resonance focus, and flexible register transitions, using targeted exercises to promote vocal health and efficient function. Technical skill is consistently linked to musical intent to ensure that technique serves artistic goals. Expression is developed by encouraging students to engage deeply with song texts, characters, and emotional nuances through analytical and creative methods such as text annotation, dramatic exploration, and visualization.

Cultural awareness is embedded by studying the origins and social context of repertoire, fostering respect and thoughtful interpretation. Growth is emphasized through clear, achievable goals, reflective practice, and ongoing supportive feedback, helping students cultivate perseverance and confidence. I strive to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where every singer’s unique voice and artistic vision can flourish.
