I currently study music at a college in london, but I studied English at a secondary school in Essex, and this is where I achieved a 7 in English language (7 is equivalent to an A) and a 6 in English literature (equivalent to a B).

My teaching method is catered around the wants/needs of each individual student. I myself have a learning disability and memory issues, and although this has never stopped me, I understand what it feels like to be in a lesson, and not understand what is going on. Because of this, I make an extra effort to explain things clearly, and I would be more than happy to explain things more than once, in order for my students to understand. Another teaching method that I find helpful is reverse teaching. Reverse teaching is where I get the student to teach me a topic that I have just taught them. This really helps me understand whether or not the student is understanding the topic, or needs some more time on it. My lessons start with a mental health check up, eg, how are you doing? What have you been up too? I do this not only because mental health is so important, but to make sure the student is in a good mindset and place to learn! :)
