About Emily
I worked at UPenn's Marks Family Writing Center, supporting university students and faculty across a wide range of majors and disciplines. As such, I'm comfortable diving into niche topics and into different segments of the writing process. I also have served as a volunteer college essay tutor for high-achieving, low-income students, helping them craft compelling personal statements and navigate the college application process. In my current job as a business consultant, I work daily with professional writing and am well versed in professional tone, structure, and clarity.

Hi! I’m Emily, a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with a passion for writing and helping others express themselves clearly and confidently. Whether you're tackling a college essay, building a résumé, or polishing an academic paper, I’m here to help! Depending on the task, we'll aim to break your writing task down into the following stages: 1) Brainstorming - Generating strong ideas and finding your voice 2) Drafting - Organizing thoughts and building a compelling structure 3) Refining - Polishing grammar, flow, and clarity A non-exhaustive list of writing support I provide: - College and graduate school application essays - Resume and cover letter building - Academic writing (research papers, theses, etc.) - General editing, proofreading, and writing strategy
