Hello! My name is Safia :) I am a first year Biochemistry BSc student who has achieved an A* in AQA A-Level Psychology and feel passionate about teaching the subject.

About Safia
I am currently a first year undergraduate student studying Biochemistry.
You may ask why I want to teach psychology as opposed to a science. As much as I love biology and chemistry, they are not my only passion. Psychology being one, I am also a big fan of English which is why my favourite way to spend time is by reading. I also love to bake and draw.
When learning A-Level Psychology, I found myself very interested and drawn by the concepts and theories. I made my essay plans as a way to condense my revision and offered them to my friends too. I used my notes as my main source of revision and my friends gained much help from them too.
I also realised that explaining concepts to my friends during lesson was something that did not bother me, in fact I enjoyed it.
I tutored English GCSE for a while at my secondary school and realised it was something I wanted to carry on doing!
As a result, extending such help to other students who are at a point I was a year ago is something that I am eager to do because I get so excited by the prospect of the A-Level Psychology curriculum. I want to make it fun and engaging but also ensure you get the grade you’re aiming for.

The approach I have towards my lessons is to first identify problem areas for my student. Is it a specific chapter or topic which you struggle with? Or do you struggle with a particular skill such as essay writing, statistical analysis or recognising command words in short-answer questions?
From there I can help you with the understanding of a certain topic and skill and then practically work on it via questions, quizzes and mock exams.
I have a comprehensive set of concise essay plans (which double as notes) that I can offer my students. This is what helped me gain my A* and I can teach you to use the notes in the most efficient way to optimise revision. Alternatively, I can teach you to take your own notes which can aid in your revision.
We will take all the steps to ensure that you achieve the grade that you have set out on and along the way you will also learn to love the subject which is a key part of doing well in it.
