About Holly

For a little bit about me, I’m 20 years old, and a musician based in Belfast. I’ve been attending singing lessons for as long as I can remember! I love to sing a little bit of everything. From Musical Theatre, to Metal music. I breathe, eat and sleep music, it is my biggest passion in life. Alongside music, I do work with magazines that support local artists! And I’m currently in the process of writing my own book. I’m in a band myself, we gig around Ireland and write our own music, but one of my favourite things to do is sit down with my guitar and let my brain spill onto a page, songwriting is something I’ve loved since I was a kid! If you were to ask me why I want to teach, it all comes down to my lovely music teacher from secondary school. He motivated me, built up my confidence and was the one person who encouraged me to do my music degree, and I believe for that I owe him everything, because I was always too afraid to pursue music, but it’s what I needed in the end because it’s my one true passion, and I want to bring that passion and enthusiasm to my lessons, and help students build that confidence they need to have that passion.

About the lesson

As a musician, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is how to be confident. I am a massive advocate for making students feel comfortable. Lessons are meant to be fun! And I will do everything in my power to ensure that. There is nothing you can’t learn, if you’ve been struggling to hit that high belt, you best believe you’ll get it! I focus my lessons on teaching techniques that you can keep in your pocket, even beyond your lessons and into your job. Together, we will build a tailored toolbox full of techniques you can apply to any song of any genre to help you. I aim to build your confidence and make you fall in love with music. I can also offer support and industry tips! We will focus on a lot of fun, helpful exercises that can safely prepare your voice to sing. I will try to recommend songs that I believe will let your voice and personality shine, and we can work through those songs together. I am more than open to you bringing pieces you want to try to me. I’m also a singer/songwriter, and I’d love to hear any original songs you have. This is a completely judge-free zone. All I aim to do is make you leave your lessons feeling more confident from the last one! I hope to hear from you soon! :) Holly :)
