About Emily
Since completing my A Levels (English, history, and biology) I have just finished my first year of university. I have a background in teaching younger students through my voluntary work in ks3 and GCSE English lessons. I have also worked in my local library, encouraging children to read.

I am a self-confessed bookaholic who loves reading and analysing literary works. I also have a great passion for the ancient Greeks and Romans, especially their epic poetry!
My teaching methods are based around practising both written skills and discussion skills to develop a more analytical and in depth understanding of literary texts.
I believe that the best way to fully get to grips with a text is to practise closely analysing its specific moments/characters/themes. Then we can consider how these smaller elements contribute to the text as a whole, and why they are important for informing our understanding of the literary work.
My lessons are mostly geared towards students who need help with understanding and analysing specific texts that they are learning in school or at home. This can also involve practicing essay and grammar skills, as well as practicing the more general skills required to approach any new literary work.
I will also adapt my teaching for different age groups to ensure that they are receiving the tuition appropriate for their age.

Details
My first lesson with you will be free and, after this, if you would like to continue taking lessons with me then each 1 hour lesson will cost £15. Alternatively, you can buy a pack of either five lessons (£50) or ten lessons (£120) which are discounted.
